Requesting a non-standard Speaking Test Appointment

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please read these notes carefully before requesting an appointment.

General Information

  1. Standard IELTS Speaking Test sessions in Oxford are on Thursday or Friday before the main test. Non-standard appointments may be requested at other times:
    - Saturday afternoon (immediately after the main exam);
    - Monday afternoon or Tuesday afternoon the following week.
  2. There is a supplementary fee of £24 for non-standard Speaking Test appointments.
  3. Places are limited and cannot be guaranteed
  4. You must request the appointment before you send in your full IELTS test application.
  5. Because of the limitation on places we recommend you send in your request as early as you can.
  6. The main exam is held at Ewert House; Speaking Tests are held at King's School Oxford. For an appointment on Saturday afternoon you will have to make your own way from Ewert House to King's School after the main exam.

Request Procedure

  1. Appointments must be requested online using the secure online request service. (Please note that the service can only be used for this purpose. You cannot apply for your IELTS test online. )
  2. You will be notified of the outcome by email, usually within two or three working days.
  3. If a non-standard appointment is available, you will be sent a reference number to use in your IELTS application. You should then:
    1. Complete the IELTS application form (available from Kings School or from www.kingsoxford.co.uk);
    2. Write the reference number where indicated on the Speaking Test page (page 3a of the IELTS application form);
    3. Send the completed form to King's School with the standard IELTS fee and the supplementary fee of £24.
  4. If an appointment is NOT available for this test, you may
    EITHER apply for the IELTS test anyway and take your Speaking Test in one of the standard sessions (Thursday or Friday before the main test)
    OR consider taking the IELTS test on a later date.
